I have gleaned that I can''t mix RTM and RC or Preview in either direction, so to speak, but apparently VS2012 RC should run on Windows 8 Preview. I have Win8 running in VirtualBox, and when I try and install VS2012 the installer just stops working, with that helpful error message, "VS has stopped working".

Is there some additional prep I need? Has someone got these two running together, on VirtualBox?
