I have a blog sub site on Sharepoint, and was trying to modify the view that you get when clicking on a specific 'category' within a blog (i.e. to filter a view by tags/categories).

In doing so, something has gone wrong, and now when clicking on a category to see its feed, you just see all of the posts, unfiltered.

I've done some research and found a few tutorials which seem to suggest adding a URL Query filter web part and connecting that to the Posts list via the /Categories/Category.aspx page, however, I have added the web part successfully but when I try to connect it to send parameters to the Post web part, it just refreshes the page and remains unconnected. it seems there is nothing I can do in order to get the two web parts to connect. No errors, just nothing happens.

I don't ever remember setting this filter web part up before or seeing it on the edit page before it went wrong, so I assume when creating a new blog, this is something that's automatically part of the blog set up i.e. the category filtering. Is there a way to revert it back to the original settings without losing the posts? Without all this filter web part stuff?

1. The filter does not work properly if the Blog Tools web part is removed in the home page of the blog site. Check if you have removed the Blog Tools web part. If yes, add the Blog Tools web part. Check if it works this time.
