Hi all,

I am trying to run some code that accesses an SQL Server accross a LAN. The error I am getting is: (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified). I had the same error when trying to access the server from within Management Studio and resolved it by adding Management STudio as an exception to the firewall. If I turn off the firewall my code can access the SQL Server without any problems, but I would like to have the firewall enabled and still allow my .NET Code to access remote SQL Servers.

Any ideas?

P.S. I'm on Vista. Don't have this problem on my XP box even with the same code trying to access the same server on the same network.
