I enabled Enterprise Keywords, but when I do a regular search (i.e. search for Red) i cannot find it, but if I search for Keyword: Red it show up.

When I started looking into this I learnt that this is more confusing then I initially thought and figured I would ask here before going further.   Seems like this would common use of the Enterprise Keyword feature , to have them show up in regular searches.

Per my test in my SharePoint 2013 environment, I enable the Enterprise Keywords feature in one list and I add the values in the Enterprise Keywords column. Then I run a full crawl, I can search the values in the Enterprise Keywords column by regular search or Keywords:value.

About the Enterprise Keywords feature, it is a metadata column that you can enable at the list or library level. And it allows the end users to input a word or a phrase to categorize an item or a document. Any value the user types in the Enterprise Keywords column will become a metadata tag that is available for others to use down the road.
