I created an app service a few days ago. It was running fine. Now today it stopped working all of a sudden. The status shows it as "running" however, when I click on the link it says server error. I tried restarting the service many times. It allows me to restart it however, unable to connect.

Then, I tried to create a new service. The new service is running however, I am unable to link my existing database to it.

If it's a 500 error then it is likely an issue with your application. I would suggest clicking on the "Diagnose and solve problems" button on the web app in the portal, this has a great wizard that will walk you through looking at issues with your app.
