Hi I'm new to the MSDN community but have read multiple articles and love this community.

I seem to be having a problem when it comes to moving an item in a list (not a document library) into a sub folder.

In document libraries i  have successfully moved files into folders via the SharePoint designer workflow utilising the "Update Item" and field "path and name".

My problem comes when using a pure list type and not a document library the field "path and name" does not exist in SharePoint Designer and trying to use the field "folder" does not seem to result in any moves. Can anyone suggest how in an action list i can move the item into a sub folder via a workflow?

Hi Simon- you're going to run into issues trying that. I don't believe there's a way without some custom code. The reason is that you have read only fields that cannot be moved over. About the best you can do is move all of the non-read only fields.
