I have tried several times to install the VS2005 IDE Ehnancements package on two different computers with the same results.  One PC is Vista Ultimate and the other is Windows Server 2003.  In both cases, after completing the installation there is no Power Toys sub-menu under Tools like I expected.  Both of these PCs had VS2005 SP1 prior to trying to install the IDE Enhancements.

On my primary development machine at work, running Windows XP, I installed the Extensibility SDK before installing VS2005 SP1.  On this machine, I have the Tools->Power Toys sub-menu with the enhancements included in the Extensibility Kit.

When I downloaded the enhancements as a separate download for my other PCs and try to install on them, the installation appears to work but no Tools->Power Toys menu.

Is there something I am missing or is the separate download not working at all or perhaps not working with SP1?

Coincidentily I have the same issues.  I am installing to Vista Ultimate. I did have this working in Vista RC2 (which did not have the VS2005 SP1 patches installed).

The problem I am seeing is that it gets to a point where the installer is cleaning up.  It then says "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Being that this was not designed for Vista, I expected perhaps some issues or to run it in an XP SP2 compatibility mode.  How you got yours to install this far is a mystery to me.  What version of VS2005 are you using or updating?
