I have tried looking this problem up, but I am not sure if I am using the correct phrasing because I would assume it would be a pretty common question. So right now, we are using a SharePoint list as a questionnaire. One of the questions is a one-or-more answer checkbox option and our client wants us to replace the current question and possible answers with a new question with different possible answers. An important thing to add is that they want the current existing questionnaire's to remain the same, they just want future ones to to have the new question. I didn't want to change the existing question because I was afraid it would change existing forms. Is this the case? If so is there a way to get around it. I want to apologize up front if I am missing any needed information. I am not very familiar with SharePoint and I kind just fell into this position. Just let me know if you need any more info. Thanks!

Hi rymurphy- you can add a new question (column) without changing existing entries. Then just hide the old question (column) from the form and the list if you want.
