For some reason my Azure AD invitation emails are being sent in French.  I've been scratching my head and cannot figure out how to change the language of the invitation.

All of the apparent language prefs in the portal are English.

Please check the language settings in the Azure Active Directory itself. Go to Azure Active Directory > Properties and set the Notification Language to English.

Are you inviting them simply to the AD or as users for an application? The application language settings can also be selected individually.
