 I have been using the IBM TPM simulator with the security stack software we are developing.

It is very useful and good for finding problems where you have no access to a real TPM 2.0 chip. However it is different to the real chip in that you have to simulate powerup and startup (I used the IBM TSS utiliities). It uses OpenSSL for comms to the simulated TPM so this needs to be installed. The simulated TPM also lets you do things that may not be supported on your hardware TPM so be aware. In particular the regression tests that come with the TSS will not work on real hardware.

I built both the simulated TPM and TSS stack from the latest IBM source. I found that you need to have matching TPM and TSS software for it to work properly.
