Running Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2 and am trying to set up Azure backup.  When I try and schedule I can't select items to include/exclude and get the error message above.  When I try an backup the whole drive it jus hangs and doesn't complete.

This error can be resolved by updating the online policy for each Protection Group. To update the online policy, choose to Modify the Protection Group. Click through the wizard steps to get to the "Specify Online Retention Policy" screen.  Increment one of the retention values, then click through the remaining wizard and finally update the Protection Group.  Making this change to the online properties will refresh the local policy and solve your issue.  However, to keep your previous retention values, you’ll need to go through the same steps to Modify the Protection Group and change the value back to the original.
