We assigned SQL Login with sysadmin permission through a AD Group, with members within the SG.

However only some members within the team managed to access all SQL instances, including the SQL Listener.

The others, get a different behaviour:

The error: Login Failed for user domain\ADUser Microsoft SQL Server, Error 18456.

But when we create for the AD user a Login directly (instead of through the Security Group) with sysadmin access to SQL, it works! the User can then access all SQL instances, including Listener.
