I am running a database software called Caché by Intersystems in Azure that requires the database to be quiesced before we can run a VM Snapshot. However, none of the native backup solutions provided by Azure provide the ability to run a Pre/Post scripts on Windows VM's so that we can quiesce the database. How can I get around this?

Colby, We don't actually have that option integrated in azure backups. Most likely you would have to write either a script in PS, Bash or python, depending on what your software supports. The best way  to get around your issue is to run the script before the backup/snapshot time, you could automate the script using chron(Linux) or scheduler for windows. I hope this helps.
