I have a request to display specific SharePoint list information across  the site collections. By specific, I mean that the source lists are in the vicinity of 4000 items and that search results should produce specific groups(folders) that list contains-that are a fraction of contents of the whole list.

我现在已经在Content Search Web部件中通过直接URL搜索实现了解决方案，并且在高级搜索模式下使用了过滤选项来显示所需的结果.

I have now implemented solution with the direct URL search in Content Search Web part and I have used filtering options in advanced search mode to display desired results.

I do not, however, believe that this is the right way to do it as search will not display new items that will be added and that are supposed to be displayed by the Content Search web part.

I believe that the right way of doing it would be to create Managed Metadata Site column in the lists, based on which value Content Search Web Part would be able to filter the search results.

Can you tell us a bit more... Search find all new content, after the next incremental crawl. So while there will be a delay, the new data will be displayed. Is this delay your concern? If so, then a Managed Metadata column will not help.

A Managed Metadata column will let you create more precise search results, but will not cause faster updates.
