I was wondering what features to be considered while developing a File System at Kernel-Space and what features to be developed in User-Space.

Please don''t ask me to go through FUSE code and etc.,
I just want a theoretical background information on features that are really required to be developed in Kernel-space and the rest in User-space in terms of implementing a Virtual File System.
