I am getting the above mentioned error when I am trying to add Meta data store permission on BCS. I have been able to configure secure store and BCS Service application without any issues. 

When I check in the Event Viewer I can see the  error Message : 

SQL Database 'WSS_Content_8d9efe62f3e44fe7b859744ff81cf9b4' on SQL Server instance 'DEMO' not found. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.

Cannot open database "WSS_Content_8d9efe62f3e44fe7b859744ff81cf9b4" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'SPDEMO\Administrator'.

I have tried with multiple accounts and getting the same error.   Ane work around ?

Hi Aravinda_Sp,

From the error message, it indicates that the user don't have enough permission to set Metadata Store Permissions. 

Try to set Metadata Store Permissions with farm account.
