The migration needs to be configured manually and there is no longer a way to save all of the AD Connect configurations and port them to a new server automatically, unfortunately. (This feature was disabled in 2015.) The good thing about this is that you can definitely migrate and upgrade in one step. You can simply install the new version of AD Connect and add the same settings that were on your old version.
