I have a web application called "Contoso" and the default url is https://contoso.com

Under AAM, I can see there is 2 default urls for this: one is https://contoso.com and the other one is http://contoso.com (thats odd to me)

I think this is due to my client extend the web app, right?

The other odd thing is, under IIS I don't see "Contoso" name instead I see something like "MyWebAppName"

I this this web application has been renamed, not sure as my client doesn't have this info

The issue is, now after uploading new Certificate for this site, if the user hit the https://contoso.com  from outside the SSL won't work. But form internal  network it work

For your first question: 

We can add two different urls with same zone, but each zone can have only a single public URL, please check the Public URL for the default zone:





For your second question, please offer a screenshot about where you are seeing  the "MyWebAppName".
