Though it is showing that the password is successfully changed, it is not allowing me to login with the new password and it is still accepting old password only. Can someone help me on this

You are trying to login to the Azure Portal or on your Laptop/Device ?

If it is on your corporate device, the device needs to be connected to your corporate domain for the new password to be cached to it. Then it would start accepting the new password.
