Ok, I have an opportunity to migrate an EC2 instance to Azure, but am having a difficult time calculating what it will cost. It's for an windows server 2016 app server that will also host 15 seats of remote desktop for the users to run the application. We will install SQL on the server directly as the own the licenses. I also want to install the RDS CAL's instead of SPLA. 

What VM makes the most sense? I've got a test server setup wtih 4 cores, 32GB RAM, 120GB OS partition, 128GB temp drive, and 350GB SSD array for data. 

I'm struggling to put together pricing. I have the 12 month free setup now, but know it will most likely be inadequate. 

Thoughts anyone?

This article describes the available sizes and options for the Azure virtual machines you can use to run your Windows apps and workloads. It also provides deployment considerations to be aware of when you're planning to use these resources. 

For your requirement you can select "Standard_E4_v3" VM and check the price.

You can purchase the CAL licenses as part of VL or through partner. Volume Licensing customers who have active Software Assurance on their Remote Desktop Services User CALs are entitled to Remote Desktop Services CAL extended rights, which allow use of their Remote Desktop Services User CAL with Software Assurance against a Windows Server running on Azure or other service providers’ shared server environments.
