I am looking for some additional clarification on the subject of Distributed Cache in SharePoint 2013.

I have read the MSDN article on the Windows Server App Fabric service and it states that although it is possible to configure the service on the same server as another application it is not considered a supported configuration by Microsoft. after further research I have read the articles on the Distributed Cache Service in SharePoint 2013 (apparently a customized version of the App fabric Service) and the article seems to imply that you can run it on your WFE server and it is considered supported however not to run it on the same server that has the search service running.

My question is, will Microsoft consider a configuration where distributed cache is running on the WFE a supported configuration? or is a dedicated server configuration required to be supported?
