i want to show the hover menu when mouse over an image which is in a modal pop up extender but the hover menu does not show up when i do that but on an clean page with out the modal pop up extender it shows up...what could be the reason...

The modal popup is obviously interfering with your javascript menu. This is what happens when you try to use all sorts of ugly libraries in parallel. Your best bet is to use Chrome debugging to work out why your js is getting confused and if you can''t fix it, ditch the ugly Microsoft stuff and use jquery for AJAX.
