I have a list it is called catalog of reports  it has the url of the rdl and other information concerning reports etc. how do I have the search bring back that just information that is in the catalog of reports list and the information concerning the report and the rdl link?

for example I want to search for the KPI Report. this KPI report information and the rdl link is in the catalog of reports.  I want to have the search bring back that url from the list and the information about the kpi report I want the focus to be on the catalog of reports.

is this possible?  I know promoted results etc... and result blocks, but I want to have the search act out side of those two items if possible and just focus in on the catalog list

Hi cowboy2066,

We can add property filter to the query of search results web part to limit scope of search results.

Add a "Path" variable to only search through the specific list/library.

Path:http://sp/sites/<site>/<list/library>

Or we can use the KQL queries for search to return content items from the specific list/library.

For example:

<report name> path:http://sp/sites/<site>/<library>
