Hello,

We have a scenario like, In Farm1 we have 2 web applications(WebApp1, WebApp2).

For WebApp2, WebApp1 is the content source and we are getting documents from webapp1 in webapp2 as expected.

now we have plan to create another Farm2 where we created a WebApp3. Now we want to give WebApp1(from farm1) as content source to WebApp3. 

Is there any issue with this scenario ? Is the search work like in webapp2 ?

If the content access account for Search service application in farm1 can access the content in WebApp3, then you can add the content source for WebApp3 in farm1 directly.

If not, then you can share the search service application cross farms. Please refer to the link below for more details:
