I have created a form in InfoPath and published it to a SharePoint forms library and it is working great.  However, I am now trying to build a custom workflow associated with the forms library and am running into an issue.

I believe what I need to do is to associate a new column that I build in designer into my infopath form and I cannot seem to be able to do that.  Is that even possible?

Designer workflow contains an action named "Log to History List". You can insert this action that writes to the history list at any point in the workflow. This information helps you determine the last successful step that the workflow completed before the error occurred and also the step in which the error occurred.
