Hello everyone,
I have a "little" question about Sharepoint and Google couldn't help me...
The Company that I work for, merged with another company. Now the merge of our IT Infrastructure will start in the next weeks. For now there are two different domains, DomA and DomB. DomA is the domain from my company and DomB from the other company. It's planned
that the every user from DomA has a user in DomB.
As Example, our User John Doe has in the end two users: DomA\john.doe and DomB\john.doe
Now here is the complicated thing. If the user DomB\john.doe tries to get on our sharepoint he gets an access denied. We have many different sites on our sharepoint and no clear structure of permissions, it's a total mess.
My idea was to use the PowerShell command Move-SPUser to replace the old DomA-User with the new DomB-User. But this is no option for my Boss, he wants that the old and the new user have the exact same permission.
Now my question. Is it possible to simulate the following. DomB\john.doe tries to access our http://sharepoint.DomA and sharepoint maps some how the user to his old user DomA\john.doe? So that his old user is login to sharepoint?
