 SharePoint 2013 on-premise should be able to display YouTube thumbnails in the Newsfeed when you Post the url. Unfortunately I am unable to get this to work. Has anyone seen this issue?

For your issue, please you make sure the application pool account have access to the Internet and the trust between SharePoint farm and YouTube has enabled.
