Hi, Just wanted to ask if there is a way to create a Server 2016 Azure VM and then connect a Azure SQL database to it.  My objective is to be able to run SQL Server Agent from SSMS for a Azure database instance.  This is because on it's own, the database instance doesn't support it.

You can create a Linked Server on your SQL Server 2016 VM and use its SQL Server Agent to schedule execution of store procedures (for example) on an Azure SQL Database.
