You cannot talk about moving from.NET to Genesys CTI. The whole question makes no sense.

First thing is a framework, a big platform, an implementation of CLR, something that in roughly equivalent to the OS platform (and actually a basis for a number of emerging OS).

In contrast, Genesys CTI is merely one of the application level technologies, and Genesys is one of the technologies in the field of Computer Telephony Integration.
