i have mysql database on a server, and i have a vb.net application. i want to make a backup for it by using mysqldump.

can i make the backup by the vb.net application without having mysqldump on my local machine? is there a way to call mysqldump remotely?

It would be easier just to put the mysqldump.exe on the local compupter. It can easily do remote backups to the local computer. If not I think building a web control, or using an existing one, is the only way to go.
