I am using ASP.NET 2.0, Visual Studio 2008 and Ajax. I invoke a detailsview within a modalpopup from a GridView link. Within the detailsview (which resides in an update panel) I want to use the non-ajax validators but am unable to use the Regular Expression or Required Field validators. The two ajax validator extenders do not meet my requirements.

1). Is there a known problem with using non-ajax "regular validators" in modalpopups?

2). Is there a way to incorporate a required field validator within a modalpopup textbox?

3).Is there a way to attach a regular expression validator to a modalpopup textbox?
