i want to know that can we add product key like option to our website so that it will run on only a domain and when someone downloads the whole website from the server and changes it name or some stuff and uploads it to another domain it either asks for key or shows error ???

Assuming this is an ASP.NET website, if they have access to the code behind in order to download it (and without that it won''t work at all) then they have probably access to your source - in which case anything is removable or changeable and any protection is going to be a waste of time and space. If they don''t, or if you obfuscate, then you could check the IP address of the server in the code behind and only work with either a valid range or addresses or a single address (assuming you are using a static IP for hosting). But any protection can be worked round, and will generally annoy more legitimate users than protect you from crooks.

If this isn''t an ASP.NET then you can''t do diddly-squat - HTML is not even obfuscated!
