I would just like to know how I can retrieve only the Latitude and Longitude points from an Address.

I dont want to view it on a map or anything similar.

I just need the co-ordinates, which will then be saved in my database for later use.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but I wish to get co-ordinates for South-Africa

Please, any help would be valued.

Have you taken a look at the Google Maps API? I''m not 100% sure that what you want is possible with the API but it does seem to get rather close to it.
