Assuming your webcam has a night vision mode (and I have never heard of one that does) then you would need to talk to the manufacturer or distributor of the specific model to find out.

AFAIK, all CCD are sensitive to IR light, but most digital cameras are fitted with a physical filter to prevent IR reaching the actual CCD so that it doesn''t confuse the image, or blur it. It may be possible to physically remove the filter (I''ve never tried, it may be a layer on or in the lens setup) but then it probably wouldn''t work well as a day time camera.

If you want night vision, buy a night vision camera or goggles.
