I agree with Raja and Abhinav. I would suggest an alternative solution. Do the following: learn C# first. After you do it, you might find your problem to learn VB.NET solved automatically: you will understand that you don''t want it anymore :-)

Now, more seriously. This is absolutely not because I have a strong C# imprinting: I don''t have it. My background are way older than C# and I did not come to it from C/C++ or C-like language. I also appreciate some good features of VB.NET like better readability and admit the syntax is way better than C# in several points. I can see some serious flaws in C# and think that its readability is less then reasonable. Unlike really bad legacy VBs, VB.NET looks like a decent language in many respects.

My approach is more practical: many good developers do not take VB.NET seriously. Microsoft does not take is seriously enough. C#, C++/CLI and IL are standardized with ECMA and ISO and all the implementations respect the standards highly (unlike some implementors of C++, including Microsoft). Nothing like that happens with VB.NET and will probably never happen. VB.NET projects are often perceived like those done by companies who cannot afford C# or C++/CLI developers, and this is often the case. If you want to get a quality solution of some .NET problem on Internet, look for "C#" — you will find more, better solutions. If you ask a question, the better answer will be more likely in C#.

This is just a fact of real life, no matter if I want it or not. Think about it.
