All grid views are not horizontal and not vertical — they are rectangular. Perhaps you can call a grid view with only one raw a "horizontal" but I don''t see much sense in such object; just make a "horizontal" table.

Now, transpose… You can think of transpose operation only when you apply it more then once, showing the same data in different orientation. I doubt this is what you need. Now, bear in mind that a transposed grid view is also a tree view with exact same properties, but with the cells relocated. Transpose it in your mind and create a regular tree view. Seriously. Alternatively, you can transpose your data set, if you use one. André Kraak explains how to transpose it in his solution — please use it.
