I wonder if there is an asp element, which allows to upload several files simultaneously (e.g. by selecting several files with <ctrl>). I found out that the standard File Upload element cannot handle this.
Can it? If so, how? Are there any other standard elements that can handle this?

If you want to upload multiple files using the "standard" elements, you will need to add x number of file upload controls for x number of files onto your page which is pretty darn ugly and not really practical. In order to successfully do this you will need to take Tejas'' advice and use a jquery implementation of some kind.
