I guess, you don''t need it, unless you want to confuse your users. The hourglass cursor says "wait, don''t use UI for a while" and is shown when UI is not responsive or temporarily disabled and cannot be used. During installation, it should not happen. UI is always responsive, you can move its window, click some enabled button (most usually "Cancel installation"). At least one control is always enabled. Even though the cancellation itself does not happen immediately, it does not mean UI is not available or responsive, it just goes to the mode "cancellation requested" or something like that.

If you really have something beyond that, you need to explain it.
