How to create a search engine in php or javascript. I do not want to connect with the database..

I have read the data from an xml file and displayed it in an HTML table with border in the php webpage.. Pagination is also done for displaying the data and I got stuck with "search" functionality..

Instead of connecting to a database, how can I do searching for a data?? I have an HTML form and submit button for performing "search" operation..
