its bin a while since i''ve bin here. joined in 2003 but my life took un-expected turns.
i am interested in programing: however i have one difficulty. when studying programing, we are normally taught in such a way that its hard to use what i have learned into a concrete project. for example if i want to write a simple program. i would like to know how each of the different project link up. like i know how to create a class. how do i link it up with say the graphics class. i hope u get the idea.
so am asking if there''s a good book u know that approaches programing like that. i really don''t like compartmentalized learning ... it obscures the bigger picture.

i really need a good book that is both beginner and somewhat advanced.

or any site or material for that matter ...
