How do you mean? Set the login and password where?

In SqlServer itself, you can create a user, and give them a loginID and a password.
Under Security, right click "Logins" and select new Login. Follow the dialogs, and it will let you configure the things the user is allowed to do with databases.

When you connect, you specify the login id and password as part of your connection string. See MSDN[^]
