I''m a newbie to programming and need to modify a preexisting application that was written by my boss'' predecessor. This application was written in ASPX with VB.NET.

We are looking to plug an industrial scale into the serial port (COM1) on a floor PC that will run this ASPX/VB.NET app. We are told by one of our developers (who doesn''t have the time to help us anytime soon on this project) that we need to implement a dll.

1) Can someone offer a snippet of code to address COM1 in a dll?

2) Can someone direct me to some documentation/tutorials regarding access the serial comm port in such a manner?
