I have a list control object using the Report view, in my dialog. It has
only a single column with no header text. The header gets displayed
with no text, of course, but I would like to hide it. How do I do this?

You can hide the header of a list control.
But it is not possible to hide the header of a single column.That is what i understand from your qstn.also it doesnt make any sense.
to hide the list control header u can code as below.

CHeaderCtrl* pHdr = m_ListCtrl.GetHeaderCtrl();
pHdr->ShowWindow(SW_HIDE);
