This is the first time I put a question here in the forum of Code Project, so I hope to be sufficiently direct that want help.

You are definitely in the right place if you have a programming question, but you must also understand that this forum is dedicated to users that have already tried something and are stuck. Of course you can also pose more general questions, but usually it is frowned upon if it were information one could easily google on ones own. If it is an exercise that was given to you by a fellow student that should also be the first one for you to ask.

Rule #1: Always look for information at the source

If it is an exercise that is expected of someone attending a course, it is also understood that the person attending that course should be able to solve it. Once again Rule#1 applies quite nicely: If you don''t think you have enough information to solve the exercise the best thing for you to do is to ask your lecturer or one of the tutors.

Enough of all this already :). If you think you have a question regarding programming matters this is the forum where to ask such questions, but you must acknowledge that we are only prepared to really help those who have already tried something and just for good measure I''ll just mention Rule#1 once again.

A couple of hints:

- be precise
- enclose the necessary details (Sometimes we''re quite good at mind reading, but you can never depend on it
- don''t paste a code dump but only the important parts concerning the problem
- make sure you can use a debugger
- read it, think about it, ask somebody (in person), google it, read it again, think it over some more, rinse lather repeat and if you''re still stuck come here show us what you''ve done and where your problem is and maybe we can help you.
