We have a customised ERP solution under development for our College.

The software is developed under .net
Database is SQL Server
Windows Server 2008

The program is essentially an accounts and student management program purely for use within a single campus.

Maximum users are 6 at any one time (very unlikely), all of these are within a single closed fibreoptic network on campus. There may be periodic web based access for management review.

The developers have insisted on twin servers, one for the appplication and the second for the database. They claim that there will be substantial system slow down if the application and database reside on a single server.

Any server specification would also be a great help.

I would much appreciate any guidance.
