I am trying to find information about using one common form to access different data sources. I am a beginner C# programmer, but a senior VFP developer and would like to learn more C#. Our office has an old program, written before I started here, that is used internally and out in the field. There are 2 versions of the program depending on where it is ran from. I would like to rewrite this program, but only have one version that can check if it is able to connect to our sql server and make the connection, or if not, then use a different, local to the program, database that it can store the data in to be transmitted back into our office. What would be the best database to use if it can not connect to our sql server? What would be the best way of going about doing something like this? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
