I would like to somehow add some type of Signature scan to my application but have no idea what type of signature to use or how to go about using it. I would like to know:

1) The type of signature to scan with or for
2) How to use the cryptographic service to create a digest
3) How to recrusivly scan and record all hashes to scan against later


Maybe what Im asking is quite in depth but at this point I am looking to scan for file signatures to compair them to the initial scan that records all hashes on the computer.
