Please Help to save my project...... I am fairly new to VB but have taken a introduction course at devry. My program is a definition type scanner... In my form I have 3 buttons, a textbox, a combobox checkbox made by devexpress and a text file in my resources that the program uses to find names in the chosen directory. How can I scan all of my hard drive by using recrusion with the text file as the names it will scan for?. I have looked all over the net for ideas but most if not all only allow you to scan by file name and not with a resource such as my virus list text file.

Set up a function that scans a directory given as the parameter. If it finds any subdirectories, it calls itself to process them. Allow a return type for "found" or "abort" just to stop processing quickly.
That way, if the user selects the root director, it will process the whole HDD.
Remember to allow for access failure exceptions!
