Hi all,

I''m writing a directX application that loads various images, videos and pdf for presentations (think windows explorer). Obviously loading lots of large files for browsing is slow and tedious and so I want to speed this up by using the thumb cache.

I''m sure I read somewhere that you can extract an image from this file based on its file name and / or location, but I can''t seem to find the link again. Could anybody point me in the right direction?

Note: I''m wanting to get the thumbnail image of a file, NOT create the interface that lets thumbnails be made from my application.
