i am developing a client side application and use a sql local database"SQL Server Compact 3.5" in visual studio 2010 when i pass a select query for retrieve username and password it give this error

Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)"
